Tasmania records 699 new COVID cases, a rise from yesterday's figures

 Tasmania has recorded 699 new COVID-19 cases, up from 504 yesterday.

The Department of Health said 16 people were in hospital but only eight were there specifically for COVID treatment. 

One person is in intensive care and more than 3,900 people are in isolation in the state. 

Just over 95 per cent of Tasmanians aged over 12 have now had their second dose of a COVID vaccine and 39 per cent have had a booster shot as well.
